Professional Summary
Tao will be greeting you as you walk into his office in the Boggs Building 3-10. He is a Senior Research Engineer in the Nuclear and Radiological Engineering and Medical Physics (NRE/MP) program, focusing on the development of advanced detectors and instrumentation for nuclear nonproliferation at the Laboratory for Advanced Nuclear Nonproliferation and Safety (LANNS) that is led by Anna Erickson. In addition to excelling in teaching & service, Tao also manages and supports the overall execution and operations of the Consortium for Enabling Technologies and Innovation (ETI) and the ETI2.0 consortium, as well as the LANNS group's R&D activities. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Power Machinery & Engineering from Tianjin University in China, and his Ph.D. in Photovoltaic Engineering from University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Prior to joining the NRE/MP program in 2019, Tao worked as a Research Engineer at the ECE School at Georgia Tech since 2011.
