PaR Systems, Inc., a world leader in material handling, aerospace manufacturing, automation, and robotic solutions since 1961, announced that it has acquired the major assets of Atlanta-based CAMotion, Inc., and CAMotion Cranes, Inc., companies recognized as innovators in material handling utilizing Cartesian robotic technology for pick-and-place systems, palletizing and depalletizing machines, and advanced crane motion controls. The acquisition will bring a suite of products and leading edge technologies that will add to existing solutions and capabilities in the material handling and crane technologies employed by PaR’s Marine, Aerospace, Industrial and Hazardous Environment businesses which enable PaR to add dramatic value for clients.
CAMotion was founded by Steve Dickerson, Nader Sadegh, and Wayne Book, and more recently joined forces with William Singhose. These Woodruff School faculty members contributed IP through Georgia Tech patents and otherwise to make CAMotion and CAMotion Crane a successful and innovative robotics company. ME graduate students have also contributed along the way, including Khalid Sorensen (previously with CAMotion, now PaR Systems) and David Magee (Texas Instuments), coinventors on some of the patents.
